May 21: A dream of mine came true today!

On May 21st I flew to from London to Oslo and met up with an online friend (for a very short chat) and walk to Oslo City (shopping centre) before she headed off for her bus home and I was going to meet other friends at Morten's cd-signing. Once we discovered where it was to be held (the store has 2 floors directly above each other) we had a bite to eat and a chat, we shared stories, showed each other photos from the past few days and then we wandered around the centre for a while, but in no time at all it was 4:30pm so we went to a cafe on the same level as Platekompaniet (where the cd-signing was being held) and had an early dinner, there would be no time later - we wanted to get back to our hotels to change and be there early enough to queue for the concert being held at Rockefeller Music Hall.

At about 5:30pm we headed over to the store and noticed about 30 people or so queuing already, so we joined the back of the queue and waited for Morten. About 6:05pm Morten arrived and photographers for Norwegian newspapers like Dagbladet, VG and Aftenposten and fans went flash-bulb crazy taking photos of Morten and we also noticed NRK tv were there to do a story.

Whilst we waited our turn with Morten we noticed the album "Letter from Egypt" playing in-store. It was so nice to hear the full songs. I realised when I got there, the album, only a few days since release on May 19, was already No. 1 on the Norwegian album chart and it made me very excited!

Around 6:30pm we neared the head of the queue and each had our photo with Morten and our cd signed. I only managed to say to Morten that I'd come from England for his cd-signing and the concert tonight and mentioned I was really excited to listen to the album and really looking forward to the concert. Morten smiled and then he said "so am I" and said "thankyou". It wasn't very long to say anymore (I still find it hard to talk to my idol) even after being a fan of his for over 21 years - but I did manage to get the one thing I've always wanted - a photo with Morten and I don't know why I've never done it before!

It wasn't by any means stressful or pushy as the HMV signing in Oxford Street London (2006) and although security were there, they weren't in any way involved in moving fans along! I enjoyed it - it (along with the concert) was the highlight of my very quick visit to Oslo and I didn't get back to my hotel until about 12:45am and then had to be up early for a 1040am flight back to London.

Oslo's a great place to visit but I'll never do such a quick visit again - it wasn't planned too far in advance but next time I shall plan trips for a few days either side so I can see things I still haven't seen on previous visits.

I've loved every holiday I've had in Norway because it feels inviting, friendly, exciting and homely!

I'm the happiest woman in the World!
